Living on a farm help?
There are farms that are close to other houses and towns, there are farms that are a long way from anywhere else. If you're running a farm that produces anything or keeps any animals, there's a lot of work involved. Animals don't take holidays. They need looking after 7 days a week, 52 weeks of the year. Living in the country usually requires that you be more self-sufficient than when you live in a city. I live a half hour drive from the nearest town. That's where I have to go to shop and do everything else I need to do. There is no store to run out to and buy milk for tomorrow if I forgot.
