I want to know the name of a movie or tv show that I saw once! please help!!!?

I saw it a long time ago. It might have been english, I'm not sure. I remember It involved a painting of a witches cottage, that changes in some little detail. But my sister says that the main character was an undercover police detective. I'm not sure. But I never got to see all of it, and the part where I had to shut it off was where these two women were...maybe they were lost, maybe they had car trouble,but they saw the witch in the forest. I really want to know what this show was. please help.
